3 Hours of Dinner

Hi everyone! It's Lucy, and of course I am making a blog post about the excellent food we have had. In particular, some of the faculty members - Ibrahim, Abla, Sara, Munzer - of Amman Academy invited us to Fakhreldin restaurant for dinner, and WOW we did not expect a place this fancy. The restaurant was beautiful, the food was amazing, and the waiters all served food right onto our own plates. And they did not stop bringing out the dishes, until before we knew it the clock turned 10pm (we were there since 7).

With a 3 hour dinner comes long engaging conversation where I learned much about Jordan and the people we were working with. Conversation ranged between our teaching, their careers, and even travel and religion. The food and the people made it a night to remember - overall, we are astounded by the hospitality exemplified by everyone we've met. People have gone above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and accomodated; Careem (Uber in Jordan) drivers offered their number to drive us elsewhere in the future, Ibrahim inquired about buying a resort day pass for us, and more.

After dinner, Abla and Munzer drove us to a nearby rooftop bar with the most gorgeous view! We have been treated so well. From having my flight cancelled, rescheduled, then delayed; my luggage getting stuck in Dubai for 2 days; my T-Mobile international plan NOT including Jordan (out of 140+ countries); to a five star dinner and rooftop views in less than 48 hours, my time in Jordan went from 0 to 100 real quick :)
